Research & Consultation
Publications
I have published over 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as several book chapters in the areas of trauma and natural disasters, psychosocial factors in chronic health conditions, sleep and health behaviors, and training and education in medicine and psychology. To view my publications, please see my Research Gate profile.
Speaking & Consultation
I have given many local and national presentations on psychological topics. I especially enjoy giving presentations for medical teams, including for medical resident education. Example topics include assessing suicide risk during a medical visit, preventing and managing needle phobia, and speaking with patients about somatic symptoms/panic attacks. In addition to speaking on these topics, I have published peer-reviewed articles on integrating public health core values within psychology training, training in psychological assessment, and ethics education for medical students.
I also have considerable experience with developing and evaluating programs, quality improvement initiatives, and publishing research findings. I have particular expertise in developing and implementing mental health screening programs within medical settings.
If you are looking for a mental health expert to speak at your event or to provide education for your team, or if you are interested in support with program development/evaluation, research, or navigating the publication process, please reach out to me at [email protected].
